It is important that 2Succeed clients have ample opportunity to train for their employment goal. Support with American Disabilities Act (ADA) questions and accountability
The American Disabilities Act (ADA) is a civil rights law enacted to protect people with disabilities against discrimination in the workforce. The law ensures that qualified individuals with disabilities have the same opportunity to apply for and achieve gainful employment. It is important that employers understand their own rights and responsibilities, in addition to being clear on their responsibilities in protecting those already employed and those applying with disabilities. Support With Current Staff Suffering Symptoms of Mental Illness
According to the Surgeon General, "One out of every five Americans will suffer from mental illness this year" (Satcher, 2005). Most companies have employees that suffer from a mental disability, but many don't know what regulations or responsibilities they have to that individual. Additionally, due to the heavy stigma attached to mental illness and the lack of education around it, many employers are unsure what to do when an employee becomes symptomatic. 2Succeed will support and educate employers on what to do and how to support individuals with a mental disability, to maintain retention and ensure productivity is continued.
